josef interprets dreams

MIKKETZ (Genesis 41:1 - 44:17)
Is there a purpose to the curvaceous smile that reaches
across millennia from the lips of Joseph’s wife?
Dreams curl past sleepers. Regrets and enhancements haunt us
as if moments were built on waves, carrying dolled up echoes
of what could have been. Common enough, you say.
But what urgency plunges into this form, what needs
to be done during early mornings? “Let lying dreams lie,”
Their whispers fall like lead into a well. Yes, yes, but
is there no way to make other drafts? All our days
suffer offences so, no wonder, famine despoils our dreams!
