LECH LECHA (Genesis 12:1 - 17:27)


On this road grass sprouts in the cracks
and pebbles lie loose. Treading must be done
softly in bare feet and if you’re lucky enough
to wear shoes, it won’t be for long.

There’s an even wilder side to this road
best not talked about. It disappears
under scrutiny. You can catch it in glimpses
only after dusk. Seers walk there.
